Alberta Stallion Stakes

The AQHRA is pleased to provide a strong stallion stakes program. It's purpose is to provide additional racing opportunties and incentives for foals sired by Alberta based stallions.

The rules/conditions for this program are as follows:

1. All Stallion owners must be a member of AQHRA.

2. Stallions must stand in Alberta for a minimum of five consecutive months (the approximate time period being February 1st to July 1st).

3. Stallion Breeding Reports must be filed with the AQHRA with their nomination fee postmarked by November 30th (the same date as AQHA requires them).

4. An annual fee of $200 per stallion per year is required to participate in this program. This fee must be paid on or before November 30th the same date that the Stallion Breeding Report is required. We highly reccommend that this fee be paid January 1st of the breeding year to allow AQHRA to advertise and promote your stallion(s) to interested breeders.

5. All monies collected from stallion owners will go towards the purse and promotion of the Alberta Quarter Horse Sires Stake.

6. Foals do not have to be born in Alberta in order to be eligible to participate. (AQHRA recommends that all owners foal their mares in Alberta in order to take advantage of Breeder and Owner bonuses)
